Connor Cook NFL Draft Profile

Connor Cook NFL Draft Profile

Connor Cook, Quarterback, Michigan State

Overview:

There were major questions about the Michigan State offense heading into Connor Cook’s sophomore season in 2013. And it took a while for those questions to be answered, but eventually Cook started throwing the ball around Spartan Stadium. In the Big Ten title game that year, Cook threw for over 300 yards for the first time in his career against Ohio State. At the Rose Bowl, he threw for 332 yards and two touchdowns against Stanford. The strong finish led to huge expectations going into 2014 and Cook did not disappoint. On the year he completed 58.1 percent of his passes for 3,214 yards and 24 touchdowns, while only being intercepted eight times.

Final Projection:

At 6-4 and 220 pounds, Cook has the look of a pro-style quarterback. He can get the ball downfield and, more importantly, makes smart decisions. In his two seasons as a starter, he has thrown 46 touchdown passes and just 14 interceptions. That is an impressive ratio considering the defensive toughness of the Big Ten. Cook may not be the flashiest quarterback in this class, but he is a solid signal caller that could end up being a top ten pick by draft time.
