San Diego State finally lost a game. Any loss would be a surprise, but a home loss to UNLV was quite the shocker. That currently puts the Aztecs at 26-1 overall. A #1 seed is still in play, but the loss does hurt their chances. The good news for SDSU is that other teams are not exactly grabbing those top seeds. Gonzaga lost this week and so did Baylor, although that was to Kansas and both certainly deserve #1 seed at this point. Those two will likely meet again in the Big 12 tournament, adding another lose to somebody’s resume. All of that still gives the Aztecs a shot at #1 seed, but it would be difficult to pass on a four or five loss squad like Duke who has played a much tougher schedule.
