Once again, we saw the parity that is women’s basketball in 2020-2021 rear its head again this week. Both North Carolina State and Connecticut fell from the ranks of the unbeaten on Thursday night. The Wolfpack fell to Virginia Tech. That really is not a terrible loss for an NC State that had not played in three weeks before their two games against the Hokies and were still missing superstar center Elissa Cunane. As far the bracket is concerned, Virginia Tech was the big winner and are now squarely on the bubble despite their 9-7 overall record. UConn fell to Arkansas behind a superb performance by Chelsea Dungee. The Huskies will stay on the top seed line for now and Arkansas cemented their spot as a top 25 team.
