There'll be a Super Bowl game between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in two weeks at SoFi Stadium. It'll be the second time in two seasons that an NFL team has played at its home stadium after Tampa Bay did last year.
Let’s talk about how the Super Bowl LVI teams booked a place in this exciting sports event.
Rams vs. 49ers
The Rams overcame the 49ers with a tight 20-17 victory thanks to an interception by Travin Howard with one minute remaining on the clock. Aaron Donald forced Jimmy Garoppolo into throwing to Jamycal Hasty, and it was the defense of Los Angeles that won.
After winning a conference title for the second time in four years, the Rams moved closer to a second Super Bowl title under head coach Sean McVay. As a bonus, LA broke a six-match losing streak against its archrival.
Tartt's interception was the biggest mistake the 49ers made in the end, but they'll regret their late-game play as well. Just over 10 minutes later, McVay blew his final timeout by failing to challenge, potentially putting the Rams in a vulnerable position.
Chiefs Vs. Bengals
Talking about Chiefs versus Bengals feels like a fairytale. No one gave a winning chance to the Bengals as the Chiefs were red hot favorites not only to win the conference championship but the Super Bowl LVI as well. Both teams entered the stadium with contrasting odds – Chiefs with negative and Bengals with positive.
The Bengals have never won the championship. They have ended up losing both times in Super Bowl XVI and XXIII against the San Francisco 49ers. Can this be the first time? Will they be able to turn the fortune and topple the Rams in their home ground? It might look tough but not impossible. We will know in two weeks.
After overcoming a late 18-point deficit, the Bengals took a 24-21 lead on McPherson's 52-yard field goal. It was Harrison Butker's 44-yard field goal at the end of regulation that sent it to overtime.
For the second week in a row, the Chiefs won the coin flip when overtime began, but Vonn Bell intercepted Mahomes on the third play, allowing Burrow and the Bengals to take over.
After winning their first playoff overtime game, they're heading to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1989.
What Are the Odds Now?
The initial Super Bowl odds for Super Bowl LVI had the Chiefs 6-1, the Bengals 80-1, the 49ers 14-1, and the Rams 20-1.
Los Angeles will be playing at home in the AFC title game earlier on Sunday. The Bengals stunned the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime to win the Super Bowl despite being listed at 6-5 atop the odds.
However, as per Super Bowl LVI Outright bet, the new favorites for the 2022 Super Bowl are the Los Angeles Rams. There's a -190 betting line on Los Angeles to beat the Cincinnati Bengals (+155) on Feb. 13. One cannot ignore the home advantage as well.
After beating the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game Sunday, the Rams are 4-point favorites to beat the Bengals in the all important contest.
