Kenny Stills, Junior, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma
Overview:
When the record setting Ryan Broyles went down midseason for the Oklahoma Sooners, fans were worried about what would happen to their beloved team’s offense. Kenny Stills, just a sophomore at the time, tried his best to step in and fill the void. It didn’t totally happen although his numbers were solid. What did happen was Stills was revealed as a great second receiver. There is no shame in this title; not everyone is built to be a go-to guy. With Broyles in the lineup, Stills was fantastic, tallying all eight of his touchdown catches in those games. He also made a ton of huge, long plays with the defense shading to Broyles. After the injury to his teammate, the big plays were not there.
Final Projection:
With average size but good speed, Stills can be a second option in an NFL offense. He will not be drafted as a number one receiver and does not possess the skill set to be one anyway. However, a big junior year, with Ryan Broyles now graduated, as the Sooners’ best wide out should help his stock. On the other hand, if last season was any indication of what can be expected of Stills when the defense is focused on him, a more likely scenario has him falling to the middle rounds as a slot receiver or strictly a deep threat.
