Tu Holloway, Senior, Point Guard, Xavier
Overview:
Tu Holloway turned into a superstar, but he did not start off his collegiate career at Xavier that way. During his freshman campaign, the 6-0 point guard only averaged 5.5 points per game. It was during his sophomore season when Holloway really got some national attention. That season he averaged 12.1 points per game, but more importantly turned into a superb team leader and dished out 3.9 assists per contest.
By his junior season Holloway was a household name, and rightfully so after he tallied 19.7 points, 5.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. He was the heart and soul of a very talented Xavier team, but as it turned out, when he had a bad day so did the Musketeers.
Final Projection:
Xavier bowed out of the NCAA Tournament in the first round in 2011 and that could have led to Holloway’s decision to return for his senior season. The last impression of the star point guard would not have been a good one if he had gone pro early. Holloway will not have a problem putting last year behind him and moving on to have a fine senior season and a successful career in the NBA.
