Doron Lamb NBA Draft Profile

 Doron Lamp NBA Draft Profile

Doron Lamb, Sophomore, Shooting Guard, Kentucky

Overview:

While some of his Kentucky teammates chose to take their talents to the NBA, Lamb decided to return for his sophomore season. After being a part time starter for a Final Four team in 2010-11, Lamb’s role will increase on the team with guys like Brandon Knight no longer around. The 6’4” guard from Queens was third on the Wildcats in scoring in 2010 with 12.3 PPG, shooting nearly 49% from behind the arc. He has a very smooth offensive game, most notably in the ball handling department, setting up his teammates with good court vision and decision making. He has a good ability to score in the flow of a game, as well as make good passes in transition or off the dribble. If there is something he could improve on, it would be his aggressiveness and consistency, because when he is consistent he is much harder to stop. He is a hard worker, so improvement will be expected from Lamb looking forward to next season as the Wildcats attempt to get back to the Final Four.

 Final Projection:

Even with players on his own team taking away some attention, Lamb will be a player to keep an eye in 2011. With an increased role on an already good team that will only get better with some experience, look for Lamb to climb the ladder when it comes to the draft in 2012. He will have a great opportunity to show off his passing skills with guys like Terrence Jones returning to Kentucky and guys like Anthony Davis and Michael Gilchrist on the way.
